Early Life

Cosgrove was born in USA to Tom Cosgrove. Who owns a dry-cleaning business and Chris (nee Casey) a homemaker. She has stated that she is of English, Irish, and French descent. Cosgrove is an only child and was homeschooled from sixth grade onwards. She struggled with body imageinsecurities during her childhood. Prior to becoming an actress, Cosgrove wanted to be a Veterinarian. At the age of three, she was discovered by a talent agent, while singing and dancing at the Los Angeles restaurant Taste of L.A. Cosgrove says that when the agent approached her and her mother, she had “never really thought of being an actress” and “was lucky”. She then appeared in numerous television commercials for McDonald’s and Mello Yello. And also modeled for various brands. At the age of seven, she began auditioning for theater and television roles.

In 2011, she was accepted at New York University and the University of southern California (USC).She ultimately started attending USC in the fall of 2012 to be able to continue acting and to stay near her family. She initially majored in film but later switched her degree to psychology.

Career

Cosgrove’s career stated at age of 7. With several appearances in Television commercial, and she made her film debut playing Summer Hathaway in Richard Linklater’s School of Rock(2003) and she appeared in a number of minor television roles over the next few years before gaining prominence for her work on Nickelodeon, starring as Megan Parker on the television series Drake and josh(2004–2007) and as Carly Shay in the teen sitcom iCarly (2007–2012), the latter of which earned her widespread recognition. She reprises the role of Carly Shay in a Revival of series (2021–present) , which premiered on Paramount on June 17, 2021. Cosgrove also voices Margo in the animated film series Despicanle Me (2010–present) and hosts Mission Unstoppable With Miranda Cosgrave(2019–present).

She made her musical debut in 2008 with iCarly, a soundtrack album for the series of the same name in which she performs four songs. In 2009, she released her debut extended play, About You Now. Cosgrove’s debut studio album, Sparks Fly, was released in April 2010, and her second extended play, High Maintenance , was released the following year. The EP’s lead single, “Dancing Crazy”, written by Avril Lavigne, debuted at No. 40 on the US Billboard Adult top 40 and peaked at No. 100 on the Billboard Hot 100.

 Cosgrove is vary talent actress and singer. She an active supporter of St. jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis Tennessee. She also visits other children’s hospitals and considers Education Through Music one of her favorite charities. She is a national spokesperson for Lightvthe Night Walk, an organization that creates awareness for blood. She signed with skin care and cosmetics company Neutrogena on February 12, 2010, as an ambassador.
